Video Capturing Error

I am new to MF4 and have been trying to convert VHS cassettes to DVD using a Terratec Grabster AV250 hooked up to the composite video outlet of a VCR and connected to my PC through a USB2.0 connection. At first, I had problems with no sound but got around that by freeing up more RAM. I succeeded in converting two cassettes and stored them as .mpg files in the My Videos folder of My Documents.

Recently though, when I try to capture a video, I get the following error message: "Cannot set MPEG parameters error. Capture failed. The create file is corrupt and unusable. It will be automatically deleted." Also, the two films I successfully captured no longer appear in the "Captured Videos" pane. What am I doing wrong?
