photoimpact 10 smartdownload trouble

i am connected thru a lan dsl i canot get smartdownload to work says i have no internet connection but i do?? any help would be appreciated

I had the same problem...I read an earlier post that I had to disable all my firewalls in order to download, but that still didn't fix my problem...I went to yahoo search and searched photoimpact smart download, it took me to a trial download freebies that had all the "try them before you buy them" add ons the same as in the smart download and installed them all individually, it worked. Could this be related to local firewall settings? I've tried a lot of different firewall software, and some of them can be rather opaque until you RTM ; }

Some port might be required which isn't currently open and the firewall needs to be set to allow it perhaps?

Heck, ever since cookies started being an issue, I've been turning THEM off except for certain sites, and sometimes something won't work and I realize I need cookies enabled just for that site/process.

Isn't the internet fun? ; }

i even reformatted to get things working but smartdownload does have something to do with firewall but iam afraid i may mess up settings

trend micro i like it alot but u cann download the content from the url in one of these posts

I was using Trend Micro and found it among the best. Too bad I'd have to uninstall what came with System Mechanic Pro (Kaspersky, which is also great) to reinstall my still current registered TM Security version and tell you what might be the cure. Maybe I'll have a reason to use Smart Download and will be able to tell you whether it's poking for some port that needs to be available...

I have downloaded the trial version of Photoimpact 10, was not smart enough with the smartdownload and got the components from the download page and saved the components file and now trying to install the components. In setup it gives me an error saying I need to download the photoimpact 10 ESD version. I find no reference to an ESD version anywhere. Please help.

u have photoimpact closed when u try to install the components? try having it closed and then install the components did u get the downloads from the ulead page?
