Two ways to do this:

1. Click the Selection Options button on the Attribute Toolbar. Select "Inverse" then click Selection Options again, select "Make Selection Area Transparent." One more time and then select "None."

2. After you select the green area, click "Copy" then "Paste." You will have a new Object in the Object Manager that is just the green star with a transparent background. Then hide or delete the original with the black background.

ok i find that when i save the animation as transparent if has a white edging that when i add this star image into another GIF with green background is very noticable...so i made the transparent background green and repeated the steps gettting rid off the white edging...any other way around this?...also it seems that the transparent process looses sharpness... the star is not as CRISP... is this normal?....i havent fineshed the work yet cuz i been to busy but here is the star before n after tyvm again.....i also posted another topic on moving objects

Thanks for the compliments!

The white fuzzy edge is likely due to your optimization settings... On the Optimize Tab of the workspace, set the matte to "none" - just click on the color area. Image

Give that a try.
