can't see images in project playback

Post by propho17 »

Hi and thanks to anyone who can help. I am using Videostudio9 and have had loads of luck with it.
Today however, I am unable to see any images when I hit play to preview the project. The audio plays back but the screen goes black when the images should be appearing. I am using the same format of images files as I always have (jpg) The individual clips play when I preview them. I haven't tried video in this project, so I don't know if that works. I am stumped. I've checked the project properties, but they are set the same as they always are. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Veronica

Well, it would help if you told us what the image properties and project properties 'always are'! Plus your computer specs and operating system. Also, what editing you have done to your images and project.

But it might also be useful for you to actually render the project to a file (DVD-compliant mpeg-2?) and see how that plays in a software video player. Or actually burn that file to an RW DVD. I have a fairly powerful computer, but Project Playback relatively often is sticky for me... But the end product is fine.

I have not done any editting to the images and don't see why that is an issue since they are the same images I have used in previous projects. I am not going to render anything when I should simply be able to hit previee to see how they look. I have a very capable computer system that I have used for video studio projects for over a year. Is this a problem other people have had and how have they fixed it?

WE DON'T KNOW BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T TOLD US ANYTHING!

The more info you can give the better. You may think nothing has changed, but some of the "unofficial" experts on this board may be able to help you.

One thing is certain, something has changed. If you have been using VS9 with loads of luck, and now there's problems, then something on your system changed to anger VS9. However that may not be the case. As Ken and Blacklab stated we need more info to figure out why your having these problems now. You don't have car problems and call up the mechanic and say my car doesn't run, why?
