Choppy sound when capturing from DV into pc

Post by paul mitchell »

Hello all

I have searched previous topics and looked through posts so excuse me if you all groan if this is a topic that is always being raised! I have picked up some great hints on other topics!

Until recently I used Pinnacle Studio 9 which came with my digi cam (sorry to swear! ). I used it to create several DVD's which I was quite proud of but it started hanging on rendering, so I purchased Video-Studio 9.

I am capturing footage from my Canon MV730i, through Firewire into my PC.

When I tried (several times) to capture my Christmas day video, the sound was "intermittently choppy" as it playing into the pc out of my pc speakers but I continued to capture hoping this would solve itself eventually when burning to DVD.

Everything captured fine and I used Multi-trim to successfully edit etc and burned the disc and I even chose 'normalise audio' but the sound is fine at times but then poor as it is choppy.

Can anyone give me any hints? The sound is fine when played back on original tape through the camera.

Thanks a lot
