I have a movie file that I downloaded, which has a duration of 1:39:41
is xvid mpeg-4 and 23.976 fps. It has audio in the form of mpeg layer 3 at 48000 Hz.
The video is 602MB and the audio is 92 MB. When I use Ulead Movie Factory 3 to try to burn this movie onto a DVD+R disc, it says that the required disc space I need is 6.12 GB, but the only DVD disc space I have is 4.38GB. I understand that the disc is 4.38 GB, and I receive the following error when I try to burn the movie onto a disc...
"The disc may not have enough space. If you continue, the operation may fail when burning the disc. The action will stop."
but is there a way for me to compress the movie file, so that it will fit on a standard DVD+R or DVD-R disc? I tried using a DUAL LAYER disc, but it will not read the disc as being in the drive. I desperately need help! All I want is to get the movie on a disc so I can watch it on my DVD player. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello,
If you first create the TS files, which you will save to a designated folder on your hard drive, you can download the free software called DVD Shrink. Go to http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/sof ... =dvdshrink andif you scroll down you should see where you can download it. It is freeware. I use it all the time and I love it. You can then use your regular burning software to burned the compressed file to DVD. I hope this helps!

Compressing Files to Fit onto a DVD
I'm guessing you can. I only have version 2. In version 2, after you have completed everything and you are on the last screen, at the top, you are given options for "Output Settings". You can either Record To Disc, Create DVD folders and/or Create Disc Image File. If you select the 2nd option, Create DVD folders, and then click on the yellow folder at the end of that line. You then choose where you want MF3 to create the folders. (Note: one of the folders that it creates is an audio_TS folder and this folder will be empty, but it is still necessary to keep). Then just click on Output at the bottom of the screen and it should start creating the files and folders for you. Once this process is complete, you can use DVD Shrink and select the folder location that was just created by MF3 and it will automatically compress them, once you have clicked on the backup option. Then use whatver burning software you want to create the DVD.
I hope this helps!
