Export from MSP8 to Sony HDV Camcorder - NEW ANSWERS HERE

Post by beatm »

Yesterday I found a post from September that had no solutions supplied. I submitted the following but am also submitting it as a separate post because it may otherwise be missed

I have been successfully exporting back to both my Sony HDV camcorders for several weeks now but NOT 100% OF THE TIME. I think that the settings have to be EXACTLY as they are in the TRANSPORT STREAM TEMPLATE. For example, when I have modified the Quality from 70% to a higher setting, or checked the "add keyframe at clip edge" then the export would mostly fail. Also, if I have "perform smart render" ticked then it can cause the file to get an MPG extension name instead of the required M2T. If this happens you must highlight the".mpg" and replace it with the ".m2t" extension.

Hope this helps those who are still frustrated..

Which Sony HDV Cameras are you using?

The previous posts had to with connectivity, the owners of the FX1 camera were not able to connect to the computer properly.

I have Sony HC1 and have not had any problems connecting, capturing and export to camera.

The only thing I don't like is the time it takes to render the video to output to tape.

I have both the ZIP (PAL) and A1P, and have succcessfully exported to both. Yes, the rendering is a pain, but if you render in "Transport Stream" and try to load it back into MSP8 it will rapidly copy-convert it to "Program Stream," whereas if you render it to Program Stream in the first place, it seems you have FULLY RE_RENDER it to create "Transport Stream." :)
