videostudio 7 se basic error code

trying to drag an drop dv video clip from capture into the board at the bottom of the screen (editing).

I get an error code 17101 70 2
catastrauphic failure

also mentions that the files do not exist but they are in the correct folder??????

what is going on? can anyone help?
