MF4 freezes after couple succesful modifications2slideshows

Post by Robin Holland »

Hey everybody,

After reading the topics I realise Im not that experienced like most of you with technical expertise :) I'm no professional :(

Anyways, I have downloaded MF4 recently together with Cool3d and pictureshow4... My computer is quite new, 5 months old, has an amd athlon 64 3000+ CPU (1.8 ghz) and have enough space available on my harddrives (200gb).

I'm using MF4 at the moment mainly to create slideshows with pics and movies from my digcam. During one project of creating several slideshows, matching it with music etc and arranging the pictures within the slideshow, it freezes many times and I have to restart my computer. I cant even re-activate MF4, I really need to restart my system.

I have downloaded all updates I could find on the update site of Ulead but error keeps occuring.

I really have no clue what to do or if this problem is familiar. Please advise.

Thanks,
Robin

Can you descrbe when the error shows up?

On my system when I first installed MF4 clicking to fast with the mouse button would generate errors.
Sometimes even though the system appears to be locked up it may be working in the background. I would have to wait about a good minute or so.
The more I used MF4 (with the updates) the better it ran.

Many times an error could be generated during the file conversion process. Usually on the last disk creation stage. It's best to export the slideshow first (using the 3rd icon down on the left from the timeline) to a mpeg2 compliant file and re-import that back into MF4. This creates the mpeg2 dvd compliant file. If there's something wrong with the conversion it will showup exporting it rather than on the output screen where you can't tell what the program is doing therefore not knowing exactly where the error is coming from.

Always keep your temp file directories clean by running disk-cleanup.
