VS7 Help - No mpeg sound when importing

VS7 Help - No mpeg sound when importing
So I've been trying to edit some vid of a .mpeg file from a DV recorded file on my desktop but no sound is playing. I've also opened a .avi file and that worked fine, sound and all but when it comes to the other one no sound at all, just vid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't give us much to go on. But I'd start by hazarding a guess that the mpeg file has Dolby AC-3 audio on it, which VS7 can't handle at all. VS8 could handle it with a plug-in that cost $30, and VS9 handles it natively. An upgrade to VS9 would cost $50.
Right click on the mpeg file in the VS7 library and tell us what its properties are.
