No audio during capture using videostudio 7

I am new to video captureing and videostudio as well. I am using the Dazzle 90 device to capture the video but I am not getting any sound at all. I am captureing from a VCR not DV but I assume it should still give me some sound. I've tried changing the audio capture device to both Dazzle and Soundblaster and it hasn't changed anything. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
