I bought a new Sony DCRPC109E (MiniDV, 1.3MPixels) last year to upgrade from an old Sony DCR120e (Digital8).
The picture resolution is better on the new camera but the colour / white balance is not as 'nice' with many sequences looking 'washed out' or too much light blue and certainly not enough reds.
I can compensate to a certain extent with the white balance settings on the camera or colour correction video filters on UMSP7.0 but the colours are still not as 'lively' as on the old camera.
I was even able to compare footage against someone else's Panasonic MiniDV camera which had richer or more faithful 'reds'.
Could it be to do with aperture settings (I use the 'auto' settings usually because I found little change switching to manual) ?
Has anyone encountered the same problems and managed to overcome these ?
Thanks for any help.
