Cannot get any audio when rendered with Dolby

Post by Liamo »

Hi - First thanks to those contributing to this forum, particularly the regulars who answer queries. I read most posts just in case I come across the problem. I searched but can't find proper answer to this. I have created a mpeg using VS9 and Dolby and there is no audio. The file settings are:
PAL DVD
3,472,856 KB size
Video
MPEG 2 Video, Lower field first
24 bits, 720x576,4:3
25 Frames/sec
Variable bit rate(max 6500)
Audio
Dolby Digital Audio
48000Htz, 2/0(L/R)
192Kbps

Windows media player won't play it and just shuts down(I read it doesn't support Dolby anyway) but DVD Workshop will play it but no sound
When I created the same file with LPCM audio it works fine but I was hoping to use Dolby for size purposes. I tried creating the MPEG twice but no go.

The Project properties in VS are:
PAL (25 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 576, 4:3, 25 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
PCM, 32.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Would apprciate any help

I had the same problem. But after installing the Ulead VideoStudio 9 Update Pack it solved the problem for me.

Hi Liamo

Can you confirm which version of VS you are using.

This post indicates VS 8 but in your first post you say 9???????

VS8 does not support Digital Dolby without purchasing the AC 3 plugin from ulead.

If you are indeed using VS 8 then an upgrade to VS 9 is advisable.

Using VS 9 will allow you to create video using DD.

My operating system is win 2k and only supports windows media player 9. I had to install a free AC 3 plugin allowing the player to use DD

Hope this Helps

Hi Trevor

Sorry just recently upgraded to VS9 and forgot to update my profile.
It is with VS9 that I am having the audio problems with the mpeg

Thanks
Liam

Ps I'm using XP SP2
Pps I forgot to mention that the file plays fine within VS9 but nowhere else

Nope
Tried what BIGDAWG2005 said and updated with UVS9Full_Patch1_5in1. Still no sound from MPEG outside VS9. Noticed that the 'about' shows

Ulead Video Studio 9.00.0000
Ulead Dolby Digital Powerpack 1.0

Should it not be 9.01 or something if there is an update added
Can anyone help. Have to do an ordination ceremony and my soul is at stake here!

Hi

My system will not play Digital Dolby unless I install the free A/C3 plugin from sound forge.

Have you installed as my first reply.
