Unable to record voiceover

I have Videostudio 9 (which I upgraded from Studio8). When I try to record my voice, the windows recorder appears but on clicking on the record button I get the message: "Cannot record voice
Unable to create the file
[19071:0:0]
[15131:3:5]"

I then opened VS8 and the same problem occurred. The odd thing is that I have done voice over many times in VS8 previously without problem.

The only new thing is that I upgraded windows to XP SP2 Is this relevant?
I have an HP Pavilion computer with 120 G HD and 90 Gig free. There is 1 G of ram and it is 2.8Ghz pentium 4 processor.
Any advice would be appreciated. I have also contacted Ulead help but have not heard from them yet.
