Newbie needs help/advice

My home DVD player is an Omni DVD+ rewritable. When I want to playa DVD I've recorded on my computer, using DVD Player 1.1, the following message appears: A file on the DVD disc cannot be opened. Playback may not continue. How do I get around this?

DVD media comes in essentially two types DVD +R/RW and DVD -R/RW.
Most, but not all, DVD players can play both types. You will probably find that this mismatch is the cause of your problem.

I have only used DVD+RW discs, so that can't be the issue....
