Any hope for a corrected bug-fix version of PI 11?

Post by RalphDN »

A brief question which is possibly more important than many-

The multitude of serious problems in PI 11 must certainly have been "noticed" by the Ulead staff at this point. Can we hope that a bug-fix release might appear which will be free for those who have purchased and attempted to upgrade to PI 11? This is what other serious manufacturers do in such cases.

If there will be a patch release, it will certainly be free. Unfortunately, Ulead is still in the data gathering stage right now. I for one cannot recreate most of the problems reported in this forum. And in order for the Ulead R&D to release a patch, they would have to duplicate the problem, which unfortunately, they are having dificulties doing as well.

But idiotic things like not being able to type text into the program (some letters don't work) without switching back and forth between workspaces must certainly be reproducable and a patch for this problem could have been generated long ago.

Are they? So why they are not here, where the problems are? Somebody tried to contact user via this board? Somebody from support wanted to gather more information as opposed to sending standard form "Reinstall"?
Somebody from Ulead tried to create "known problems" page?
Why it takes them so long? Do the other applications have other problems, because they (Adobe, Jasc) are able to identify and solve them, and not stay in "data gathering" stage for months.
I think Ulead has enough data from Windows crash reports. I myself send them 50 or so before giving up.

Ulead support is worse than for most freeware programs.

was there not a Beta version available prior to release, for users to report faults etc? The problem can't be too hard to reproduce, if the R&D dept ask friends/family to install PI11 on their computers, try the 'smart download' and see the faults for themselves.

PhotoImpact is great software gone wrong somewhere. :?

No new release or bug correction patch from Ulead??

I posted in this thread long ago and I am astounded that now, at the end of May 2006, the question is just as valid as it was so long ago.

I just got spam from Ulead, trying to sell me VideoStudio 10 along with PhotoImpact 11 in a combined package. Surely something has been done so that I can at least type text into the text module without reloading my workspace?!

Can I get a correction to Version 11 of some sort somewhere, anywhere?

Thanks for your quick response!

When I go to the Ulead page there are two updates offered, the "Raw update pack" and the one you named above. Should I install both updates or is Update Packe 1 sufficient? By the way, I don't know as yet what this update fixes but the simple issue of typing certain alphabetic letters onto a photo is apparently still not fixed...

Thanks again,
Ralph
