Hi Cannabis,

I along with many others have had the same problem and have tried all the varied suggestions on the forum with no sucess. The one thing that did work for me was suggested by another user "gordon fan 24" and that was to set up a new user account in windows and access VS9 from it. This worked and continues to work for me 3 months later. I now keep this new account purely for VS9 and use my other account for everything else.

hope this helps

Andy

I had problem installing v9 after running trial version

But I found this in another section not related to the trial version and thought maybe it is useful here for someone else... it was hard to find and I haven't gotten any response from customer service yet when I emailed about the problem and it sure would be nice for Ulead to have some kind of info like this clearly posted if it is an ongoing problem.

QUOTED: "Didn't see this posted anywhere and thought it might help folks trying to re-install VS9. Had a problem with VS9 (upgrade) and tried uninstalling/reinstalling VS9. VS9 would then try to startup and then just go away. Anyway, should you need to uninstall/reinstall VS9, here's how an email from Ulead recommends uninstalling (there's a lot of nooks & crannies that need cleaning out):

1) Clean up C:\Windows\temp directory. Clean up all files in C:\Documents and
Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Temp folder. Uninstall VideoStudio 9 from
control panel Add/Remove programs.
Delete following folders
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead
VideoStudio
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc
=>C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio
=>C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\

Proceed to step 2, even if you can't complete step 1.

2) Delete folder {88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE} in
C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (Please set "Show hidden
files and folders." in folder option in OS)

3) Please del the folder " Ulead VideoStudio 9.0" folder in C:\program
files\ulead system
4) Run Regedit from Start/Run in Windows task bar
5) Delete folder {88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE} in
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
(If you always see Ulead VideoStudio 9 file name showed in the Add/Remove
Program, please do point 5)
6) Then reinstall UVS 9 again
