No props, no themes ??

Anyone knows the solution to this ?
I own version 3 and 4 of CD/DVD PictureShow and when I make a new installation of the software (either one) I am unable to see props or themes??
However, if you look in the folders, the UFO files are there...
I do clean installs. (this is a new PC)
note: it worked before on my old PC ???

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Pierre,

Re PS4, sometimes the installer does not generate a needed file called "index.smp" in the folders that contain your themes and props. Go to C > Program Files > Ulead Systems > Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 4 > Content > Props and check all of the individual sub-folders (Baby, Sport, Nature, etc...) for the "index.smp" file. Each folder should contain one "index.smp" along with various .UFO graphic images (and possibly some other files). Also check the "Presentation Style" and "Menu Template" sub-folders for the same thing. If you find that these sub-folders DO contain .UFO files but NOT an "index.smp" file then the problem is your Props and Themes are installed but not recognized by PS4 due to the missing index files. Let me know if this is the case and I can probably help you solve the problem.

As for PS3, I can't help you as I have not used the program.

Hi Mike, thanks for the answer. I did a re-install of PS4 and sure enough all UFO files are in the appropriate folders but no index.smp in props or presentation styles.
Can you help?

For record purposes, the index.smp files received correct the situation 100%.

No problem Kyle. I'll get in touch with you later this evening. As to "why", I wish I knew! The installer is supposed to generate these files but for unknown reasons it sometimes fails to do so. If there's a way to force it I'm not aware of it. The good news is, the procedure I mentioned seems to work for just about everyone.

Sorry to be a pain, but like other people here, I'm also missing the index.smp files (tried reinstalling a couple of times but Pictureshow 4 doesn't ant to create them), is there any chance you could send me the files to belfield349@hotmail.com.

Hi Mike apparently i am having the same problem too.. could you pass the instructions on how to make this work.. thanks.. also .. i tried installing the free download pack.. and that's the only thing that shows up on the menu theme...

drom , i tried reading that topic and unfortunately no i does not help.. its weird coz before the installation works and after reformatting my pc i tired installing pictureshow4 again .. the props and themes wont load. but the free download pack that i installed loads.. i also tried copying the contents of the other folders like (sports,fantasyland , etc. etc..) into the free download folder and still it wont show up...
