Hi,

I have a few old VHS kids movies that I want to move to the DVD player. I gess full DVD resolution is a no go.

I am sure you guys have gone through this before.

Thanks.

As you can see if you do a Search in this forum; yes it's been discussed umpteens time before.
In short, use about 4000K CBR, and you can fit two hours on a DVD5 with apparent equivalent quality to VHS.
For details see previous discussions.

Shouldn't be any problem with full resolution going by your machine specs.

NTSC Specs (USA)

FrameSize = 720x480
Aspect Ratio = 4:3
Fielding = Interlaced (top or bottom field first dependent on the capturing device).
Video_Bit_Rate = 4000kbs to 8000kbs (Variable or Constant) play with it.
Audio = Your flavor, they should all work if you have a good dvd player.
Going with mpeg or dolby(preferred Dolby) is better. Uses less disk space which allows more space for the video content.
So you can fit more content on a dvd using Dolby Audio because it's compressed.

Hope this helps,

MD
