high resolution image

hi,
i am trying to compose a high resolution image of 2 m square at 300dpi. unfortunately there is a memory problem.
may i get some tips how to handle such project.

Are you sure you need that high DPI?
Have you tried with partial open?
Disable Undo completely.

my project is a large canvas on which will paste images of 300dpi. i need all the details.

Apart from all the details, you may also need a lot of RAM. Partial open would be your best bet. Don't confuse (it's very easy to do) ppi (pixel per inch) with dpi (dots per inch). Dpi is the printing resolution, ppi the screen res.

Where do you intend to print that image?

i need dot per inch. i intend to print on large format printer (2 pieces)
in your opinion how much ram i'll need. actually my pc is 1g.

Lets count then:
2m is 78.74 inches, so every dimension at 300 dpi is 23.622 pixels.
Whole image is 557998884 pixels.
At 24 bits per pixel it is 1673996652 bytes that is approx 1.6GB.
