Problems installing plug-ins - activation issue

Post by Calle »

:(
A simple question, but ULEAD support doesn't return my requests:

Can someone in this forum guide me to the right person/direction with my problem:

I'm trying to install the Plug-ins for MediaStudio 8 Pro (3GPP and MPEG-4) on my PC, which is not connected to the web. When installing the installation program tryes to connect to some site via internet for activation. As there is no internet connection on the PC this fails.

There must be a way to solve this, but as I said the response from ULEAD support hasn't come yet. Any ideas who I could contact?

Thanks ahead,

Calle

Is your MSPro installation an early ESD or Try Before You Buy version? If so your problem could be because their installers used activation, which can cause problems with later patches including the hotfix and the Smart Compsitor Designer.

This installer issue is addressed in this announcement, which you can find at the top of this forum;

When the patched installer is available info will be posted here. As noted in the announcement it should be coming quite soon.

Thanks for your answer.

my MediaStudio is a electronic dowloaded version; whether it's an early one or not I can't say, downloaded it on 21.11 as a special upgarde for DVD Workshop. But I guess you can be right that there is some similar problem with the installer. I will eagerly away the outcome.

I have Media Studio Pro but did not purchase the MPEG4 plugin, however, I did get the MPEG4 plugin for Video Studio 9, it required a activation number and internet access to verify.

I think Ulead is required to register users that have MPEG4 plugin for licensing purposes. It is probably the same for the 3GPP plugin due to the fact it uses MPEG codec.
