VS v8.01 - Playback ok from project, but only snd for clips?

I've been using VS since version 4, and recently upgraded my machine and with it upgraded to VS8, plus the 8.01 patch. Everything was working fine, and in the main most things still are, except when a clip is selected in the timeline, there is no video, only sound?? If I then click Project, the same clip will play with video and sound perfectly.

The only recent change to my system was installing XP service pack 2, so it may be related to that??

Any ideas?

In File - Preferences, do you have Instant Playback target set to Preview Window?

Just checked... Yep, it's set to Preview Window. I was thinking it may be something to do with corrupt codecs maybe?
