I have tried to register my Ulead Photo Express SE which came with my Samsung digital camcorder. Every time I try to register it, your website says the serial number has already been registered.
The program will not work on my computer which has Windows XP. I double click on the desktop icon, and nothing happens. Allen Freeman Jr ajrfman24572@yahoo.com
Cannot register Photo Express SE

Where did you get the serial number from? All my previous SE versions had the serial number embedded in the installer.
There is no need to register your software, only if you want technical support from Ulead. The support you get here, more often than not, beats ULEAD support hands down
Whether or not your software is registered has no bearing on its running on your PC. There must be a different reason for it not starting. Maybe you had a virus scanner running in the background while installing it and that interferred with the correct installation. If you search this forum, you will find a thread with the instructions "how to uninstall PI". Try to follow these instructions to the 'T' to uninstall your program. Of course, where the instructions make direct refference to PI you have to substitute this with PExpr.
After this, reboot your computer, log on with admin rights and install again.
Good luck.

I copied the serial number down on paper with a pen when it appeared on the screen during installation.
I didn't have a virus scanner running in the background. The Samsung digital camcorder came with two ULead programs, ULead VideoStudio SE Ver 7, which registered fine and ULead even had some add ons after it was registered.
The ULead PhotoExpressSE is a different story. It won't start or do anything when I click on it. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. Nothing different..

Still, cannot get Photo Express to work or to be registered
Thanks to both of you for your replies.
I am not given the opportunity to copy and paste the serial numbers during set up. My Samsung digital camcorder came with two CD's, one which included the Ulead Video Studio SE (I had no trouble registering and installing this); the other CD included the Ulead Photo Express 4 SE, Video Codec, Direct X 9.0, and Quicktime along with install DV drivers. During the setup to Photo Express, it gives me the opportunity to seclect the language, and also the folder. It gives me the opportunity to put my name and company. When this window appears, the serial number is at the bottom, sort of greyed out. I cannot put the mouse over the number to copy it.
I had to go to the Ulead web site and try to register it after I registered the Video Studio. It wouldn't take the serial number.
The program does nothing when I double click on it. I have never had this problem with any other application.
I also went to Samsung's support site, and downloaded the 20050202185226687_PhotoExpress40.zip. After unzipping it, it creates a folder containing 95 files and 28 folders, including a Data folder with projects. The other files include Autorun.inf, data1.cab, and data1.hdr. The Autorun.inf file says " [autorun]
OPEN=Setup\Check.exe
ICON=Setup\ipe.ico"
I even tried right-clicking on the autorun.inf file and choosing install, but it said "installation failed." So, I don't even know that the zipped file from Samsung was supposed to accomplish.
I have gone to my programs folder, and found the Ipe40.exe file in the Photo Express folder. I have double-clicked it, but nothing happens.
I cannot register the program, and it doesn't work. Ulead doesn't offer any contact support unless the program is registered, so I cannot get in touch with them.

I read another post in this group, and it suggested that I find the file, Ipe40.exe (which is in my C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead Photo Express 4.0 SE folder) and right-click on it. Then click on Properties, and choose Compatibility. I was given the opportunity to choose a previous version of Windows , and I chose Windows 95.
After doing this, the program started when I double-clicked on it. I haven't tried working with it yet. It asked me to register it, but I still
have problems. After typing in the serial number, and clicking on submit, I reach the following:

* I removed the part that had my serial number on it so I could post it to this group.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but after I started the program, I went to Help and Online registration. I tried once more, and it worked.
One thing though, I clicked on the two Ulead products that I registered, and although they offer technical support for Photo Express, they do not offer it for the Ulead VideoStudio 7.0 SE that was included with my camcorder. It says "Phased-out Product." This is very unfortunate for a program which I only installed this month.
