No serial number came with V.S. 8 SE DVD. Cannot install

Post by jwilkers »

There was a copy of VideoStudio 8 SE DVD that came with my firewire card. There was no manual incuded. There is no serial number. No where.

Thr program installer asks for a serial number. Since I have none, there is no way to install this software. There isn't even a detailed manual included ON the CD.

What can I do?

What did you get your Video Studio with?
I have a copy I received from DVICO with my HD TV card, the serial number for Video studio is on my CD case. Usually the manual is included on the CD.

A lot of bundled software does not have a serial number - it is integrated into the program. Does it enable you to install without entering a serial number.

If not you need to return it to the shop you purchased it from as you may have a faulty box.

As an example, just before christmas I went to PC World (OK - no puns I only go there in an emergency) and purchased a wireless network card.
Got home, broke the seal on the box and opened it and to my disbelief there was the manual, the installation CD and ..... No network card!!!

I got it with my firewire card. The CD came in a paper envelope. There was no number on it. The only manual was the card installation guide. The CD only had a smll readme file, no real manual.

Nope. It asks for name, comany, and serial number right at the beginning of the install.

At any rate my problem was solved. Ulead service provided me with a serial number after I sent a photo of the CD. StarTech ALSO sent me a serial number after I sent a copy of my purchase receipt.

It now works fine.
