"Unspecified Error" when creating DVD from AVI fil

Have never had a problem before when rendering/burning a DVD from an AVI file in either Video Studio or DVD Workshop. Now all of a sudden after adding chapters/titles the rendering process commences and nearly completes but just before it does we get a message box with "unspecified error". System is pentium 4 2.8Ghz / 1Gb RAM / NTFS HD 300Gb running XP home. The AVI file is about 17Gb in size. Titles/graphics/effects are minimal as this is just a simple edit off one continuous shoot. I should add that the AVI file was exported as such from Adobe premiere 1.5 if this is relevant to our problem - we are relative novices at this and this constant error message right at the end of the process is very frustrating! - any help would be appreciated

It may be your discs. Have you tried burning to a DVD folder instead?
