Error updating DVD MovieFactory

I had MF2 and applied the 2.1 update and rceived an error upon launching the updated version.

The error is DVDMF.exe - Entry Point Not Found. "The procedure entry point ?GetExtTitleInfo@CDisc@@UAEPAVCExtTitleInfo@@PAVCGenericTitle@@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library DiscBase.dll"

I purchased an upgrade to Version 4 and it won't recognize that I have this previous version installed so now I am screwed.

I found a note in the support Version 2 FAQ about this message and it advises that I contact tech support for a special proceedure. I can't contact technical support because the version 2 is no longer supported and the Version 4 is not yet installed and since it is downloaded I don't have a serial number to register it, so that I can not ask a question. You can only ask a question on current registered products. I feel stuck!

Can anyone share the special proceedure? or point me to a previous discussion link on this proceedure? I have not found anything through the search yet.
