Changing clip speed to slow mo

Post by vroman »

I have already set many clips on Va and Vb with transutions in place. Can I change the speed of a clip in the middle with everything that follows to move back with it?

Come on everyone. Someone must have some idea how to do this. I have a bunch of clip already set up with transitions but want to make one of the clips in the middle slow motion. How do I make everything after the slow mo clip stay the way they should with the transitions staying in the correct position? All the clips that follow must move because the slow mo clip is now longer than before. Anyone please help me?! Thank you

Turn on multi-track ripple and then change the speed of the clip that you want in slow mo. This should let everything after the affected clip slide down the timeline.

slow motion with multi ripple

This is what I would do:

assume you have 3 clips (1 on Va, 2 on Vb, 3 on Va)
objective: to decreae speed of 2. clip 3 should adjust accordingly.

copy clip 2 on vb to a new empty track (say V3)
turn on multi ripple
delete clip2 on Vb
ensure no ripple is selected.
decrease clip2 on V3.
drag clip2 from V3 to production library
delete clip2 on V3
turn on multi ripple
drag Clip2 from production library to desired location on Vb.
turn off multi ripple.
done.

Hope this helps.
