I am trying out VS9 with my brand new PVR 150 and unfortunately it seems that there is no way for me to capture the sound from my card's composite in.
Is this something that is fixed by the hauppauge patches?
The patch will not install on the trial version and I am not going to buy VS9 if it does not work correctly with this card.
Hauppauge PVR 150 sound capture (on trial version)

Your card has a audio input on the back, all you have to do is connect your audio to this connector thru the supplied cable.
Video Studio 9 has a plugin available on their web site, however with this plugin capture is restricted to only the highes qualit video. You can not change the capture parameters.
The plugin will not work on a Trial version. You have to have a real version to install any patches or plugins.
I have the PVR-250 and use WinTV 2000 to capture all my video and then open it with VS9. Just easier to do it this way

I connected the sound to the audio input.
The problem is that VS9 only shows my sound card as a possible audio capture device.
When I use WinTV I get the audio and video but for some reason WinTV cannot deal with the PAL signal coming from my camera. I have tried for over an hour to configure a compsite "channel" with every possible PAL setting but none seem to work. I always get the "unsynched" black and grey video.

Sorry I can't help you might want to try to e-mail Hauppauge to see if they can help.
I'm not sure if your card is PAL/NTSC specific, my card will allow me to configure my composite port as PAL, but I don't have a PAL signal to connect to. Does your camera have a S-video output connecter? If it does try it, that is how I connect my camera.

I've just started using VideoStudio (I have the downloaded, full version of 9) and found the only way I can get the sound is to choose DVD and Composite:
Source - Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II capture
Format - DVD
TV Channel (through the VCR - channel 3)
Options / Properties: Input Source - Video Composite, and my TV System is NTSC.
This may have nothing to do with what you're trying but ya never know....
Good luck and enjoy,
