Assuming you know how to add the Text object to the image, have you tried right clicking the object? The first option is "Edit Text". You can also double click the object while it's selected. The editor goes into text edit mode.

thanks but,

are'nt you talking about the ordinary text? that's easy.

I'm talking about the easy palette UPI text. My right click has no
such option for these. double clicking seems to have no effect
either.

I was talking about the easy palette. However, this option will only appear if the text effect is a single layer object, like S01. For an effect made with multiple layers, like S03, make sure the Layer Manager is visible with Layer tab selected, add text effect object to image by double clicking, right click, select Ungroup, select each layer and edit the text, and regroup objects.

Take note of the "T" icon on the right hand side of the layer which denotes a text object you can edit.
