VS9 not burning sometimes...

Post by rboucher »

OK - I create "movie".
Go to Share in VS9 so I can burn a copy.
If I use a new DVD+RW media it burns with out issue.
If I use a new DVD+R media nothing happens when I click on burn.

I have cheesy Plextor DVD drive the suppports DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs. In theory!

Any Ideas,

Thanks

Iv'e had the same problem before on all Ulead CD/DVD burning software.

You should create DVD folders or and image of your project and use software dependable software like Nero to burn your disks.

Ulead software = Coasters
Nero = No coasters

Have a read of the "Recommended Procedure" - one of the top sticky posts on the forum. If you follow this then you should have no problems.

In actual fact, the much-maligned Ulead burner actually compensated for some audio out of sync problems that used to arise with earlier versions of VS. That was useful when you used the workflow suggested by the user manual, burning a project straight to disk. Not everyone had problems - I burned quite a few disks before I read the "recommended procedure".

Now I always write an iso file instead, which is pretty much the same as creating DVD folders and burning from them. I then like to burn with DVD Decrypter, since it gives more info on the burning progress than the Ulead one, but with the advent of VS9 I'd say it's just a matter of personal preference.
