Previewing Video

Post by heebiejeebieclub »

Hi.

Have I got the whole thing wrong, or do every time you change your video file length, before previewing it, you have to go through the whole process of creating the file (which can take several minutes)?

Thanks

You apparently have your playback preference set to High Quality. Changing that to Instant will change the preview to, um, instant.

How exactly do you do that? I went to File>Playback Options and slid all the silders down to zero. However, it still takes time (albeit less time) to preview the clip. I don't want to sit waiting for minutes on end everytime i want to preview a clip.

This is just from memory because I am at work, but I believe it is under File>Preferences, then either the first or second tab you'll find your playback preference - either Instant or High Quality. I'm sure someone else will clarify.

Yes -- its under the first General Tab of File > Preferences, about two thirds of the way down: "Playback Method".

And don't play around with the quality slider too much -- especially not down to zero!!! Either leave it at its default of 70 or 80%, or try it higher. But going lower is asking for poor quality and probably also problems...

I can't find it. I've posted a screenshot, and I have version 7, I think.

Your major problem seems to be that you are NOT using VideoStudio - I believe from your screen shot you are using Media Studio - a different package - you may like to try posting your question in the correct forum - where you will find experts on your package who will be able to help you.
