It seems to me when I was using VS7 to make DVD video files, the program would let me create a DVD file no matter what size it was going to be. It would show me it was over size but at least it would proceed and make the VIDEO_TS folder and files. In VS9 it will not let me proceed it it thinks the video is over size (even if it isn't). It just stops.
I used to make larger videos and then reduce them to fit on the DVD using DVD2ONE. Does anyone know of a way to shut off this feature in the new VS9?

VS7 Versus VS9 and Max DVD Video size
Since no one has responded to this post I wil close it out. While I still find the limitation in VS9 to be totally un-necessary I have found a work around for myself. I create my disks in either 6000 mbs or 8000 mbs depending on the size of my video and I tell VS9 that i'm using a DVD-DL or 8.5 GB disk. ONce the file is created I then run it through DVD2ONE and reduce it down to fit on one DVD. This has worked for me over a 100 times. This eliminates the need to worry about exact bit speed and file sizes, plus menu and Chapter sizes, or any additional editing or audio file sizes, etc. etc. Just burn it to a file and shrink it to fit in DVD2ONE. Each time I've tried the VS9 "Fit to Disk" it has failed to finish and locked up the system tight.
Right now the master minds at Ulead have fixed VS9 so it only gives you three options,... 1. it must fit on = 4.3GB, 1. It must be = 8.5 GB, 3 Try to fit it to 4.3 or 8.5. This sounds great but if we are "Just creating Video Files" why have a limit at all??? I can see if you are burning a disk, then it is a must. I don't ever use VS9 to burn a disk, I don't trust it that much. I've burnt over 300 CD's and 200+ DVD using Nero-Buring Rom and they have all worked in every DVD or CD player I've tried, except for some of the very early disks I got from CompUSA that would not play in most car CD players. Since I've switched over to "Verbatim" CD and DVD's I have had no coasters.
