Hello,
I just recently bought VS9. I'm wondering if there's a certain kind of output that someone could suggest an mpeg plugin or compression or something that would maintain a decent amount of quality while compressing a file.
I'd like to use mpeg 2, i think? I'm really new to a lot of this stuff. I do know that mpeg is compatible with both mac and pc with both Media Player and Quicktime, thats why i'd like to use mpeg. But at the same time I dont want these really big. 80MB, 2 min videos because I will be sharing these videos online. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to adjust compression and the type of 'mpeg' i'd like to convert the file to use.
A good plug in or setting for online videos

Wow, that's a wide open question. How are you going to distribute the video (streaming? straight download? podcast?)
I have been experimenting creating MPEG4 video files and distributing using a Video Podcast (or Vodcast). I am using the MPEG4 plugin you can get for free from Ulead, as well as the IPOD specific pack (as the main point for me is to get files onto a Video IPOD).
Using the stock IPOD MPEG4 output template, I am getting about 3 to 3.5 Meg files for every 30 seconds of video.
You could also try the streaming formats available on the output menu...

Plugins for VS9
You can get the base MPEG4 plugin for free if you have VS9 registered from http://www.ulead.com/vs/extra.htm. The IPOD patch can be found at http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp.htm.
I am assuming you need to install the MPEG4 plugin before the IPOD patch, but not sure. It's what I did...
