Aliens in my Audio??

Post by krwzmann »

I have a project where i'm adding in audio that was recorded from an external source. The audio file was recorded at 44.1khz and 128kbps. I've noticed that when the audio plays on the timeline, i'll occasionally hear an 'alien like' sound. The sound would happen every 15 or 20 seconds or so. Any ideas on how to get rid of that sound? Thanks in advance!

I'm a VS user but noticed your post. Have you tried using the audio filters? Since VS comes with them I'm sure MSPro does as well. See my tutorial posted here:

Hope this helps,

Have you considered using Audio Editor to resample the clip to a *.wav using the project settings audio settings in the *.wav format?

I do this to any and all audio used in DV projects. Another useful tool is the Audacity audio editor, which is freeware. Just Google its name and you'll get the link.

Thanks guys for your feedback.

Ah man for some reason I thought I had converted the audio file from mp3 to .wav already. My project is already about 95% complete and i've already cut / synced / and placed the mp3 audio file onto one the chapter (1 hour long chapter). Doh!

Well going forward, convert to .wav...convert to .wav....convert to .wav.
