When you get an error opening a File Extension with Win Explorer reassociate the File Extension:
Right Click of the File Extension that is giving you trouble.
On the Dialog Box select the Menu Item; Open With.
In the Open With Dailog Box; find the program you want to associate the file extension with and highlight it's name.
Then check the option; Always use the selected program to open with this kind of file, Select OK, you are done. Do this for each Different File Type, NOT each file.
This should work, if not Win Explorer or your Registry is BROKEN.

Well perhaps it is the registry... but everything works just fine...
It is a brand new machine and I refuse to believe that it is already BROKEN.
I've used windows for years and re-association is nothing new - this however is... You can browse - find the iedit.exe - choose the open UFO with this only and click OK/APPLY and it don't take... doesn't even show -
If I was a little more knowledgable I'd add a new key in the registry - but not sure what its looking for...
the nuisance continues...

Soften Broken a bit but meaning the Registry has been damaged, and it is no telling by which program.
Ulead Tech will tell you to uninstall and reinstall Ulead, and then take you from there. So maybe Tech support is your best optiion at this point.
I wouldn't play with the Registry if not experienced, one deleted Key or value can take the OS down.
Additionally, it is not unccommon to install Ulead and a Virus detector that has not been disabled challenge a Key entry into the Registry and therefore damage the programs ability to function properly.
In the above scenerio, turning off or disabling Anti-virus protect and then reinstallation will usually solve the problem. If not, then there is damage to the Registry. Here you would uninstall Ulead, go back to a Restore point before the program installation, then try to reinstall again.
If the problem persists, you will have to contact Tech support, as there may be a solution only they are aware of.

Guess I will have to eat some of my words on this thread, I was partly right and mostly wrong!
If your UFO extension is getting the Error Message, PI may be incorrectly installed, but concerning other extensions, read on.
Contacted Microsoft, they say the ERROR Message you are receiving is perfectly normal if you have associated more than one program with the same File Extension. They say two programs can not open the same File Extension at the same time, ergo, ERROR Message.
In which case you will no longer be able to just click the mouse on that File Extension and load the program, but instead must right-click the mouse on the File, bringing up the Menu Item Dialog. On the Menu Dialog select Open With which should display the two or more programs that are vying to open the same File. Choose one and open the program of your preference.
Sorry for the confusion, at lest I am a little smarter now!
