No Colour

hi all.very new to thi but here is my problem.i have video studio8 with all the software that came with it when i was given the winfast DV2000. i have connected my vcr to the computer and it all works fine with sound and picture but it comes up in black and white only,no colour.i have tried reading the tutorials but cannot find a section on this.can anyone assist.thanks.
