How to change audio source if not listed...

Hi and thank's for any help... I just started to transfer my vhs tapes and ran into several problems and decided to download and try Video Studio 9. Here is just one problem I am having... with version 9 I get no sound from my source ( Tv, VCR). In the Audio Source box it has Realtec AC97 Audio and does not list any other. The funny thing is that in Version 7SE my audio source is AverMedia MPEG Audio Capture and all is working fine, I get sound from TV or VHS tapes. This is also a problem when I try to use Windows Movie Maker just list Realtec AC97 Audio for my source. Is there a way to change my drop down list in these programs to show AverMedia Audio so I can get sound when using these programs... Thank You
