Images contain vertical lines after "Share" option

Post by rculver00 »

Hello users,

I'm a newbie, but have reading this forum and the manual extensively, but none have addressed my problem. Only have 512mb of RAM, more is on order, and plenty of hard drive space.

I've added JPG images to a project and used a standard 3D flip effect between them, have animated text for each image and and music for the entire time line. This project is combined with other projects for a final DVD.

Problem: After compiling all the projects in the "Share" folder, some (usually the same ones, but not always) of the JPG images have vertical bars running thru them on the right side for about 25% of the picture width. Running this project by itself is fine, it's only when combined with other projects for a DVD that this occurs.

I've trying tweaking every setting possible, tried changing the resolution and size of the JPG with no success. I'm thinking I'm hitting some kind of memory limitation specifically for static images, but I don't know. It's gotta be something simple I'm overlooking.

Please help, I'm almost ready to go out and buy Roxio or something.

And thanks in advance.

rculver00,

I have discovered this problem as well. Like you, looked at lots of settings to try to remedy but so far no luck. As you said, it only happens with jpg images.

check the properties of your pics and compare the ulead pics.

try to match them the same.

i think from memory you need to convert to

baseline 4:1:1
progressive 4:4:4

i found this worked.

Also another one gets rid of this line uncheck non sq pixel rendering.

How do I convert as noted? I can see the numbers in the properties of the photo while in VS, but how do I adjust to make them the same?

Take your images into a photo manipulation package - like 'Photo Impact' and adjust them there - then re-import them to VideoStudio.
