where's smart edge selection tool

there is no smart edge selection tool

is there a menu somewhere to pull it up?

yes, but i don't see it is what i'm saying. there's selection...freehand selection...magic wand...smart selection BRUSH...auto selection
where's the tool where i manually click along the edge of what i'm trying to hilite and the tool finds the proper edge. i know it's there somewhere because i used to use it. it's the one where i click on an edge to edge and it shows a channel and within that channel it picks the best line

Freehand tool. Looks like a lasso.

Once that tool is active look at the tool options. You will see modes including smart edge.
