Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
I got the ParticleShop as a freebie with the upgrade to PSP2023.
I can't seem to get it to install - just freezes at the first screen.
Can anyone help???

Have you on UAC? If yes, try to switch it off.
If it does'n help, try:
- Stop antivirus.
- Run setup.exe with Admin priviledge.
What OS do you have? Windows 10/11? Oh, I see in your profile W10.

EDIT:
From my friend I get confirmation: installation on PSP 2023 works.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
Thanks for the reply.
I've stopped the antivirus, tried running with Admin
I have a DELL i7-4500U @ 1.8Ghz
RAM 8Gb
Windows 10pro
Version 22H2
The installation starts but the initial Corel sub-screen looks distorted it then freezes with the screen with the girl image ....
The first one in your screens - BUT with NO text......just the image.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
This is classic problem with JavaScript security.
Here in forum was discussed many times.
Try to click right mouse button on the place where the text should be. If there is some context menu... that can enable "disabled" JavaScript ..or like that.
And what about UAC? https://imgur.com/a/oG8gf65

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
Tried the right click - no change
Tried your suggestion Re UAC - no change!
Double checked with Firefox that JavaScript was enabled
Running out of ideas.
No response from Corel yet........
(Also tried another computer -MSI - no change, same problem.)

Hi,
one more, do you install PS .exe or from .zip archive?

I'm surprised that other users are not complaining about the installation problems.
It can't just be me!!

Look here:

if some of this works for you, ..this is my last piece of advice.

Do you use perhaps some system utility, to dissable or fix some problems in Windows 10?
And perhaps some blocking in firewall ...localhost, or 127.0.0.1, etc.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
I use FireFox and have double checked it has Javascript enabled.
I've also tried with Firewall disabled.
No change - ParticleShop will not install.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
Most programs will use the WebView2 component to render html. This component is part of the Windows OS framework, and it's the same one used in Microsoft Edge, not the default browser (firefox in your case). I doubt this is the problem, but I do want to point out that checking FIrefox wouldn't address the suggestions being made.
Unfortunately, I'm on Windows 11 and ParticleShop is not compatible so I can't test it. Can't even download it. So I can't test to see how it works on my system. You can try hitting "Tab" to see if anything lights up indicating focus.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
That just lists all of the startup checks before starting the UI, and then it just stops logging since you never do anything. Whatever is going wrong with the display, is not producing an error the installer can log. It does list where the MSI installer is in your AppData folder.

Re: Unable to install ParticleShop for PSP2023
I see in .log that you start installation from C:\Program Files\Corel\ParticleShop.exe
I thnk that this is not a good idea. Try to move installer on Desktop or Documents folder and try install from there.
