Re: Crashing of VideoStudio X9 Pro during sharing/burning process
Hi Ken,
I've been a little busy lately. I tried your suggestion of renaming the 19.0 folder to _OLD. After that I tried to burn the project again and chose the ISO image option. VS crashed again after 52% of the total progression, detaild progression 6% during multiplexing video/audio. See my earlier message on April 24: 'The system crashed after 52% of the total progression, detailed progression 5% during multiplexing video/audio. '
So almost at the same point! What do you think? That can't be a coincidence, can it? I think I have to check the whole project (haven't done that yet) and look for possible errors.
When I don't see any unusual things I'll try ImgBurn for burning the project. And if that doesn't succeed I will try to cut the project in smaller pieces to see if that will cause the same problems.

Re: Crashing of VideoStudio X9 Pro during sharing/burning process
Hi
Just to add my thoughts here.
1/ Your video files from the Sony camera appear to be Bluray compliant.
2/ When you first insert the files to the timeline you should get a message to match the project settings. Selecting details will allow you to view the properties, then Yes
3/ After editing you render the project to a new video file, using the same settings as your video file, Share – Same as first video clip (option top left). Otherwise Same as project settings.
Check the properties are indeed same as your video files.
4/ This will render your project to a new m2t video file using 1920 x 1080 x 16000mbps x 50i uff.
5/ to burn a disc first we start a new project, this clears the timelines and uses the same project settings as in 4 above.
6/ Share - Disc-bluray, opens the burner module, we add our video created in 4 above. Top left for Insert video.
7 / after creating the menu we choose to create a disc image, an iso file, choose a save location.
8 / Which menu do you use, try a different menu, additional menus should be available from the Do More Content – Menu Pack 2
9 / Hit Burn -- the process should start with convert menu.
As you are using a Bluray compliant video there will be no Convert Title.
You should try / test the above using a short project, maybe a few minutes.
You can then apply the same approach to your main project.
Re-installing the X9 program 19.5.0.35, as you have already purchased the Bluray plugin, there is an option via Help for Restore Purchases, this should activate the Bluray option.
I note you mention the Pro version, so version numbers may vary from Ultimate.

Re: Crashing of VideoStudio X9 Pro during sharing/burning process
Hi Trevor,
I tried your suggestions and made a short project, somewhat 3 minutes. It worked! So I then tried the main project in the same way, but unfortunately VS crashed again. I didn't watch the whole burning process, so I can't tell at what part of the project it crashed. Maybe I'll start all over again and follow the above mentioned steps one at a time. Maybe I missed something.
By the way, I didn't got a message to match the project settings (nr 2/). So maybe that's not a good sign?
Thanks for your help so far and I will keep you informed.

Re: Crashing of VideoStudio X9 Pro during sharing/burning process
Hi Trevor,
In addition to my earlier message, I think I know the reason why the main project didn't succeed. For the short project I started all over again, by inserting a couple of scenes/files (5) to the timeline, to check if the message 'to match the project settings' would appear, which it didn't. And continued from there, just following your steps.
For the main project I selected the earlier edited file (VSP project) and start rendering it. After that I tried to burn an ISO file, which crashed. So like I wrote earlier, I'll start all over again by editing the main project and see if that will work.

When you did this, had you first selected File > New Project? You'll only get that message right at the beginning of a new project and you insert the first video.Paco wrote:For the short project I started all over again, by inserting a couple of scenes/files (5) to the timeline, to check if the message 'to match the project settings' would appear, which it didn't.

Re: Crashing of VideoStudio X9 Pro during sharing/burning process
Your project properties should be set to the same as your video
Video:
Type: H.264 Video, upper field first
Framespeed: 25.000 frame/sec
Date rate: variable bit rate (Max. 16000 kbps)
Audio:
Type: Dolby Digital Audio
48000 Hz
Bit speed: 256 kbps
The show messages set in preferences F6 activates when inserting the first video to a NEW project.
As Ken mentions only shows once for each project.
Check that Show Messages is selected in preferences
It does not work for all video types, however your m2t video should work.
If the project settings already match the video then show messages is not requires and may not show, in which case go to settings-project settings to view the actual settings.
Also from Share – you should use your settings as shown above, Same as Project Settings would do that.
As you are now using a compliant BD video file when we hit the Burn option the process should start with Create Menu
