VideoStudio X4 (version 14) was released in 2011.

The acquisition of Ulead Systems was completed in 2006 by Corel.

COOL 3D Production Studio software was first produced by Ulead Systems and later called MotionStudio 3D by Corel.

The great thing about MotionStudio was its simplicity and user-friendliness, and it was never professional software.

In 2018, MotionStudio was added to VideoStudio version 21 with a new look in the form of a plugin named 3D Title Editor.

The Element 3D plugin that I am considering has higher features than MotionStudio and 3D Title Editor.

This plugin (Element 3D) has the following features:

1- Easy exploration in the 3D space inside the plugin

2- Direct access to 2D objects with rectangle and circle shapes as well as 3D objects with cube, sphere and cylinder shapes

3- Adding texture to objects

4- Good lighting

5- Creating shadows of objects

6- Curved 3D text

7- No limitation of camera movement

8- Choosing two modes for the camera (Parallel Projection and Perspective Projection)

9- Accurate rotation of the object, text, light and camera in a circular path

10- Creating accelerated movement

11- Creating particles

12- Adding the model from CorelCAD software to the plugin

13- Creating a group in the layers panel

14- Powerful rendering

For an intuitive understanding of the above, please visit www.panzoid.com and the Clipmaker section. 🙏

Amir23,

As a former Moderator for Cool 3D/Cool 3DPS I feel your pain. Unfortunately, your hopes and dreams of creating a better product/plugin to put Alludo on the map as a company to be reckoned with will fall on deaf ears.

Much like you I wrote to the Wishlist back in 2011 and NOTHING was ever done. My advice, move on. There's other software out there that won't break the bank and produce professional results unlike the mediocre products Corel/Alludo continues to sell. I still visit this site to offer help where my general knowledge and experience with former Ulead/Corel products may apply but also offer other options for serious enthusiasts.

1) Improve texturing. MS3D has low resolution texture support. Need high resolution textures. UV mapping so one can wrap model effectively with no stretching. Bump and displacement map support. Example: golf ball model with dimple indentions.

2) Raytracing. The ability to have lighting on model cast shadows. Pegacon's golf ball image.

3) Volumetric lighting- emit light rays to a 3D rendered scene.

4) Fluid simulaton or gravity controls.

5) Import motion tracking data, so one can align models perfectly within video projects. Example: Adding a 3D sign to the side of a moving car video.

6) Terrain builder. Create realistic clouds, oceans, trees, mountains, etc.

7) Import other models like Poser characters with group hierarchy, so one can manipulate and animate parts.

8) 3D painting. Allow one to paint on or sculpt models.

I know I mentioned a lot for the wishlist and many will probably not be considered. Reason being is that these are more than entry level features and Corel wants to keep things simple. Its a shame that none of these were offered in MotionStudio 3D after waiting years for a replacement for Cool 3D Production Studio.

Yes, you are right.

Of course, Element 3D, which is in my mind, is not a complex and advanced plugin, and it won't harm the simplicity of VideoStudio.

As I said before, this plugin is somewhat similar to the Clipmaker section of the Panzoid website.
This dream plugin, while simple, allows VideoStudio users to create stunning videos.

Let me give you an example.
Suppose the New Year has come. You can go into the plugin environment and select a sphere object. By adding a flat earth map as a texture to the sphere, you can simulate the planet earth.
Then you rotate the curved 3D text "Happy New Year" diagonally around planet Earth.
After doing some simple lighting and some light reflection from the text, you will create a fantastic video in a simple way.
By exiting the plugin environment and re-entering the VideoStudio user interface, you are able to correct the color, put a filter and also add music to the video. Then you render the video and share it with others on social networks.

Dear friend, some of the things you mentioned above, which were related to 2011, are specific to professional software such as 3ds Max.
MotionStudio software was beginner and user-friendly and did not include advanced and professional features.

I really like VideoStudio software because of its beautiful user interface and relatively professional features. Ever since I got to know VideoStudio for video editing, it increased my passion for video editing and I have no desire to use other video editing software. For this reason, the development of VideoStudio is of great importance to me, and every year I expect more advanced features to be added to this software. One of these more advanced features is the Element 3d plugin, which will not conflict with the simplicity of VideoStudio.

I will name the abbreviation of Element 3D as E3D and maybe in the future I will see such a name for real in VideoStudio. ❤️

Amir23,

As once a longtime Ulead/Corel user, I truly admire your passion and optimism for VS but your E3D doesn't have a future.

Maybe, one or more of these might be in your future?

Maybe E3D will happen in VideoStudio 2024.

I currently work with Cinema 4D and BluffTitler software.

I just put forward my idea.

My goal is to develop VideoStudio.

And it may never happen, but I'm putting forward my idea in the hope that it will.

We are just normal users here. Each of us has different opinions and ideas, and we have gathered in this topic to see the ever-increasing progress of VideoStudio.

It is the wish of every user to be able to easily edit the videos in his archive, VideoStudio fulfilled our wish.

About 16 years ago, Ulead Systems passed away, but left VideoStudio as a memory for us.

As a feature request, fairly simple one, I would love to have a "Multi Trim Video" pop-up screen bigger in size.
Currently in a 4k monitor it look very small and no way to enlarge (properties for the popup are set static - cant be enlarged by a mouse)
Even on 1080p screen the popup is very small

Hi All.

It's been a while since I've been here and I was happy to see the topic of MotionStudio. I have been using it a lot since I got it at the same time around the time of VideoStudio X4. 3D Title Editor is also difficult to use and subtle, so I would be happy if you could port MotionStudio 3D completely. The particle filters are old and uncool, I wish they would take a page from PowerDirector's Particle and After Effects' Particle world. I think the reason why Corel discontinued MotionStudio3D may have something to do with Windows 11 discontinuing 32-bit.
It's sad to see good software from Ulead and InterVideo go away, I liked MovieFactory and DVD Copy's screens because they were easy to understand.

I wish VideoStudio would allow me to freely change the color of each track in the timeline. When selecting clips in multiple tracks, I want to be able to move them up and down because I can only drag left and right. The color of the UI for the slider that moves up, down, left, right in the timeline is not very visible, so please change the color. Also, please make the size of the slider thicker. The output size of MOV format including alpha channel is limited to high definition, so it should support 4K. I have often asked for nested editing, and Pinnacle now supports it, and VideoStudio does not allow "smart packaging" when importing VSP files as movies.

I would like to have the ability to easily extend the display time of an image to the end of the timeline when I want to display a logo at a certain position on the screen. It would be nice to have a clip type (check box) that can loop regular video and music files. It would also be nice if sound could be played back in reverse.
There is a plug-in in Ultimate that displays numbers like time, but it cannot be saved as a subtitle that can be hidden or displayed when creating DVDs or Blu-ray discs. It would be nice to have the ability to display the date and time in the subtitle track by retrieving the time of creation of the video file or the time of shooting retrieved from the metafile.

PinnacleStudio seems to have smart objects using AI, I hope VideoStudio will also use AI or something to improve the accuracy of masking and motion tracking.

When I communicate with support about a bug, they ask me to send them a video that reproduces the problem, but I don't think that sending them a video of a bug that disappeared without an error message is going to solve the problem. It would be easier to report bugs to support if you could save error logs or have an analysis tool for troubleshooting.

I have CorelDRAW and Paintshop, which I save and output as transparent PNGs and overlay them, but I still wish PowerDirector had a PowerPoint-like graphic function to draw lines and arrows for explanation. I think I could do something with Boris Graffiti. I think I was able to do something with Boris Graffiti, which is no longer in development.

I'M WITH YOU ON THAT! LOVE THAT IDEA. REGARLESS THE NAME, LET'S BRING THOSE GLORIOUS DAYS OF THE WHOLE PACK BACK IN THE DAYS :) BTW. MS3D is fully functional on W10 , you can still create 3k animations and awesome titles.

Vicky V wrote: Sun Oct 02, 2022 12:08 am It would be nice to have the now obsolete and abandoned Motion Studio 3D completely added to Next version of VideoStudio2023. The lay-out is already in the current version, just finish adding the whole software. Let's call it a deal. I don't mind if have to pay extra.

It's a good idea, the old MotionStudio software can replace 3D Title Editor as a plugin.

But I have another idea. The new plugin that is going to replace 3D Title Editor, I call it Element 3D.
This name is probably familiar to you and reminds you of Adobe After Effects software.
Of course, the idea I have for the Element 3D plugin of VideoStudio software is very different from the Element 3D plugin of After Effects software, which I will mention below:

1- Element 3D in VideoStudio has fewer features and a much simpler user interface than Element 3D in After Effects.

2- Unlike Element 3D in After Effects, which is made by another company called Video Copilot, Element 3D in VideoStudio will be made by Alludo itself, or the former Corel Corporation.

In a way, the Element 3D I have in mind for VideoStudio is very similar to the Clipmaker section of the panzoid.com website.

If such a plugin is made for VideoStudio, it can produce many extraordinary and stunning videos. 😍

Wait... Are you working for Corel? How did you forward your idea...?
We all know Corel doesn't care about what all of us users demand on here, we hardly see improvements or anything we actually demand. That's a fact.
It all sucks thou, cause most of us old loyal users from Ulead are still here for the memory of the interface and old experiences Lol. Like YES, good luck with that right.
Best way to make us heard and get to Corel is by demand, I would say create and makes this topic viral for them to actually see and maybe be heard: Have they pick any interest....
That's all we can do, but other than that, good luck. It's better to move on. :( -Vicky

No, I'm not an Alludo employee, I'm a regular user.

I expressed the idea of E3D only in this topic.

Yes, I know, there is more than 99% probability that my idea will not be noticed and less than 1% probability that my idea will become a reality to some extent.

For now, we have to wait for version 26 to see what changes have been made in this version.

By the way, last year, a few weeks before the official release of VideoStudio 2022, I saw some photos of its user interface inside a website that was related to one of the countries in the eastern part of the Asian continent.

Most likely, VideoStudio 2023 will be available on the videostudiopro.com website within the next month at the latest.
