Re: VS 2022 Pro
You won't be asked if you want to create the 25.0 folder -- that is just part of installing VS. When uninstalling, I usually check to see if that file has also been uninstalled. It usually will be but it pays to make sure. Then, when reinstalling, a new 25.0 is created. But Trevor's suggestion of renaming the old 25.0 to 25.0-OLD will cover the situation where the 25.0 folder is not removed by an uninstallation, and so will remain unchanged if the reinstallation process detects that there is already a 25.0 file in AppData. What you always need is a brand new 25.0 after any reinstallation.

Re: VS 2022 Pro
Thanks Ken
I did check after uninstalling that the 25 folder had gone and, indeed, it had so the current one is new.
So far I've had no problems but only done a few tests. I'm going to be doing more this weekend so will know by tomorrow evening if all is well.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: VS 2022 Pro
Hi again Ken
A quick update having completed my first 8 minute video since downloading the new version.
I am now able to re-link old video clips that I had moved into a separate folder, I couldn't do this with the previous version.
I had a problem crop up while trying to animate some photos (about 20 in all) but most did not cause a problem although working on a couple caused my entire monitor screen to go black for a few seconds before VS started to come back again. Initially it looked rather fractured but eventually settled down to how I had last seen it but on each occasion I was informed via a pop-up window that I had Insufficient Memory. I cannot be sure but it may have been caused because I had hurried too much with my processing and the programme was having to play catch-up. The first time I had 3 pop-ups one over the other. On this occasion the first pop-up read Insufficient Memory, showed a triangle with an Exclamation mark on a yellow/green background with the fault no 100:1:2, when I clicked Ok this revealed another box with just an Ok in it and under that a further box with fault 15621:2:1. The second time I had the same first two pop-ups but the third showed fault no 19241:25:1.
I wonder if this means anything to you?
I have since re-booted my PC and when opening VS22 I get another pop-up advising that 'an update is ready to install. Do you want to install it now?' As there is only a box that says 'YES' I simply deleted the message but are you able to confirm whether the update I am being offered is the one that has caused the recent problems or is it safe for me to install?
Many thanks
Mark

The update you are seeing is the service pack that is causing problems with the program
For the time being do not install the update

When or how will we know it is safe to update?

When we hear anything from Corel/Alludo, we publish here pretty quickly. So you'll learn soon after we do... Unless Corel/Alludo break with most of their usual practice and announce it here first!
