Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
It would be nice to have the now obsolete and abandoned Motion Studio 3D completely added to Next version of VideoStudio2023. The lay-out is already in the current version, just finish adding the whole software. Let's call it a deal. I don't mind if have to pay extra. MS3D currently works on W10 but it needs improvements for 4k video animation and resolution, better realistic texture application along with blending modes such as these added to VS recently. CMS3D is the father and mother of many 3d editing animation software's out there today, came out way ahead of its time..., how come is not on the top of the line? Simple! Corel YOU gave up on it just like that, didn't improve nor updated any of its features for 11 years, better yet decided to dump it. Bad, bad, bad decision.
YOU need a team of engineers and programmers with a revolutionary vision to step-up over the competition. You can do better than simple little updates to call the attention of high-school kids using social media, think-outside the box, out of your comfort zone; blow our minds. Bring BACK the GLORY days of all these COREL applications used by millions. I'll happily pay double for an ultimate version with all the MS3D included on it (with all these new features). Let me show you what your old abandoned 3D software can do with a lil bit of creativity!!!

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
I think you will find that MS3D was a Ulead program and Corel didn't have the engineers available to keep improving the program

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
Hello Vicky V
Thank you for your beautiful comment.
I myself have always been sad why Corel stopped developing Motion Studio software.
Some time ago, I sent a message to Corel and suggested that it design a 3D animation software with a simple and beautiful user interface inspired by the panzoid.com website.
I will end my message here because this topic is for Videostudio 2023 software.

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
So was Video Studio, Ulead owned all of those. I honestly don't see a bright future for these applications including VS. It's SAD! The competition is real.

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
Configurable hotkeys. and more hotkeys.
Like the way i have to click a load of times just to edit a "title", double click or select the title in timeline, then accurately double-click inside it. it's a bit OTT when making tutorial clips.

I have always hoped that Corel would add a spell checker and a search area to find words in VS.
Am I the only one who makes spelling mistakes when typing text?

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist - Chapter marking/editing
(Currently using VideoStudio Ultimate 2022 on Windows 11)
- Chapter point marking is a pain; I find no way to reliably add a chapter point at the current play position, on a long video it is very difficult to precisely line up your mouse with the play cursor line in the timeline, it is not possible to adjust the time in the Chapter Point Manager. A button somewhere on the edit screen, preferably either near the timeline or in the preview panel, to "add chapter point here" and another for "add cue point here" would make both of those features much more usable. Keyboard shortcuts would be a plus as well.
- The Chapter and Queue point manager dialogs provide no way to modify the timecode for the chapter or queue point, only the name. This would be a very useful feature.
- In the Chapter and Queue managers, the entry boxes for the time in the New Chapter dialog don't accept 2 digit numbers when typed, and the only way to get a value greater than 9 is to use the up and down arrows on the right side of the sub-seconds entry control when the desired control is selected - this is clearly a bug in the 2022 version, and it should be fixed.
- The resolution of the sub-seconds in the point management dialogs is different than that in the preview pane, and even rounding up from the preview pane to 2 digits seems to not always set the chapter or queue point where it should be on the timeline.
- There ought to be a tool that sets a chapter or cue point at the beginning of each clip in the timeline.
- Using a grid control for the list of chapters/queues in the management dialog boxes might look better on the screen.

To add a chapter point to the cursor or playhead position, hit the keyboard key "C"- The Chapter and Queue point manager dialogs provide no way to modify the timecode for the chapter or queue point, only the name. This would be a very useful feature.
Agreed, but you can add a new chapter point, then delete the other point- In the Chapter and Queue managers, the entry boxes for the time in the New Chapter dialog don't accept 2 digit numbers when typed, and the only way to get a value greater than 9 is to use the up and down arrows on the right side of the sub-seconds entry control when the desired control is selected - this is clearly a bug in the 2022 version, and it should be fixed.
I disagree, if I select one of the numbers on the digital display, start with the hours highlighted, I can type 00:11:23:15, (11min 23 sec 15 frames.)- The resolution of the sub-seconds in the point management dialogs is different than that in the preview pane, and even rounding up from the preview pane to 2 digits seems to not always set the chapter or queue point where it should be on the timeline.
The chapter marker are designed for DVD BD Discs and as such support video format limited to 60fps, higher values of say 100+ ( 3 digits ) are not supported, If I understand you correctly- There ought to be a tool that sets a chapter or cue point at the beginning of each clip in the timeline.
There is an option to set chapter points within the authoring stage - Share - Disc- DVD, here we can choose Auto chapter points that will add a chapter for each clip.
There were some issues setting chapters on the timelines, much improved with the latest versions, I always set chapters within the burner module.
My DVD workflow rendering my clips to a compliant Mpeg2, then added video to the burner module where Titles can be used which avoided using chapters, of course it depends on the length and amount of chapters you require. Using mutiple Titles is just another option- Using a grid control for the list of chapters/queues in the management dialog boxes might look better on the screen.

It would be great to be able to edit 5.1 audio using 4K MPEG profiles instead of having to change it to DVD

Re: VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist
Corel removed support for Dolby 5.1 audio. But I often wonder if there is another form of 5.1 audio which might still be used with Corel products...
