I know this has been talked to death, but I need to know the latest news on getting my Mura's Filters to work, in particular the msStripeCylinder.8bf. I use this for displaying paper sheets.
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I believe that is why this plug-in won't work and gives me the following message:
Unable to load the requested plug-in filter. The plug-in may not be installed properly or may be missing files. (Plugin:msStripeCylinder.8bf)
This was working fine before I upgraded. Any help for me?

You didn't state which host program you are using the plug-in with; PSP? If so, which version? And, if it is PSP, I can move this topic to the PSP section of the forum where you will get a better response.

Re: Mura's Filters-msStripeCylinder.8bf
It should work on Win 10 in older PSP versions.
If your msStripeCylinder.8bf file is 56 kb in size [mine is] then it is a Filter Factory filter.
Filter Factory filters require us to add a dll file to the system folder SysWOW64. The file is Msvcrt10.dll.
OR, if you have Filters Unlimited it can be imported into that and used within FU. That is how I use my Mura Seamless on Win 10 in PSP 2021 32 bit.
I have all the Mura Seamless filters inside Filters Unlimited and they work fine.

I am using Windows 10 and PSPX7 32 bit for my plug-ins. I pasted the dll file into the system files. I imported the msStripeCylinder.8bf into Filters Unlimited and it works but I see no way to edit it. I only get 3 very pale color choices and no way to edit each individual cylinder.

In my version of FU I can change any of the slider options e.g. it is set by default on 3 cylinders but I can change the Number slider to whatever I want up to 255. I can also change all the other sliders. I just click along the slider for any of the options.plane wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 12:58 am I am using Windows 10 and PSPX7 32 bit for my plug-ins. Can you color the cylinders separately? I was able to colorize by using the selection tool but there is not enough saturation. Here it what I get. I also get 8 sliders but it doesn't help. This is how it should look when it's working right as opposed to FU. I was able to use patterns.

Re: Mura's Filters-msStripeCylinder.8bf
I just checked re using it in PSPX as a standard 8bf filter against using it in PSP2021 inside FU and the appearance looks the same to me.
I set it to 8 repeats and RGB at 0 and I applied it to a transparent layer above the 8 colour fill layer.
Either layer could be adjusted in PSP using layer modes.
It also worked inside FU via a Plugin Bridge in my PSP 2021 64 bit, but via the Bridge I had to apply it directly to the image layer as it didn't work on a transparent layer.
If you have an older PSP 32 bit version then you should be able to use the 8bf file e.g. it works fine in my PSPX on Win 10 but it won't in my PSP 2021 version. In there I have to use it inside FU.
The same process can be done using a PSP gradient set to repeats. e.g. I set to 15 repeats for the 8 colour fills but I don't think it looked as good as the filter result.
