Okay, the entire folder is 4.41 GB.

I believe my laptop already has OneDrive (at least that's where it says all my screenshots get stored lol). Just would need to know how to go about actually using it to share here.

You would have to upload the files to your One Drive, to the right of your task bar should be a cloud icon, right click – Help and Settings for View On Line
You should be able to create a new folder to upload your files.
Once done you will be able to share the folder by copying a share link.

Today I have tried to replicate the project but try as I might I cannot get the duplicate blue frames other than by me doing it manually.

Can you attach a VSP that displays the blue frames, simply zip the vsp and attach to your post, I’ll see how I get on with that.
If the project showing the gaps is a separate VSP, could you provide that as well, cheers

Hello,
So the entire folder is 4.1 GB. I have One Drive on my laptop (at least that's where my screenshots seem to go lol). I think I know how to get the 4.1 GB folder there, but wouldn't know how to go about sharing it?

Given Trevor's remarks about an association with slip slide roll and stretch, when playing with the project file, select the customise toolbar icon in the TL space and uncheck those 4 options (they are on by default), and report if there is any notable difference in project performance?

One Drive
If you have one drive on the PC with the package, then open it and sign in, and locate the public folder. Select it. Click on upload, navigate to the package folder and select it/Ok. The package should be uploaded now to the public folder: how long that takes depends on your broadband upload speed. When the upload is finished, a folder icon with the package name will appear in the Public folder. Select the public folder address that appears in the browser address bar, and copy it. Paste that address in a follow up post here, and viewers can choose to download the package using that address.

Thanks for that link, downloaded the files ok
Most confusing when running the project.
Difficult to see if the duplicated frames in blue have replaced the video frames or additional at the end if the clip.

I'll do a bit more digging but to be honest I dont think I am going to improve things

If I remove the image from the end of the clip I am left with a very short section that does not make sense.

As for the project properties they are set for 1280 x 720 having a frame rate of 29.97 when the video clips are using 59.94fps, effectively you are only seeing half of the frames available.
Whether that has a bearing on what went wrong I do not know.

I believe you will have to create this project again, make sure the project properties match the video files properties.

Post Updated
I have managed to replace the still image with the video by using the Replace Mode option far right of tool bar.
Then I simply drag the original video file to the timeline over the same clip.
Most clips were replaced whilst a few needed to have the frames deleted

Same problem has just happened to me. I was editing a wedding and the pc crashed. When I opened it lots of the clips were changed. I also have the 2021 ultimate.
Funny thing is the save I did before the crash didn’t work. The beginning of my logo now starts seconds before the end. Relinking shockingly didn’t even help. I’ve been with Video Studio since 2008 when it was owned by Ulead. There is no need to respond to this message as I’m going to have to start all over. I just wanted Zelenabel to know that he’s not the only one. Also, VS 2021 ultimate has the most bugs then any other VS release.

Windows 10 et al defaults to an auto syncing mode - which means it automatically synchronises the items in the one drive folders locally, and those in your MS account one drive folder that's in the cloud (meaning, an internet accessible MS data centre that could literally be anywhere on the globe). The windows blurb on the feature say it sync's to any device you have nominated in your MS account.
If you don't want your local files synchronised like that automatically, go to the windows settings cogwheel, account page and turn off syncing.

That does not prevent you from uploading any selected files to the public folder of your 'on-line' MS one drive account, and when finished, select the browser address bar link and email it to anyone you want to have the files. They get to download them from your public folder. Otherwise, if auto sync is your preference, the files may already be "shared" and all you have to do is tell whomever where to find them (the weblink/email in the previous sentence).

Hi All,

I have a similar issue with VS Ultimate 2021 as reported in this thread. In my case: a) VS didn't crash to trigger clip length corruption, it seemingly happened during Save process because when I reopened the project, corruption was present; b) video format possibly doesn't matter as it's happened to MP4, AVI; c) the corruption possibly includes VS 'forgetting' Pan and Zoom settings in all affected media; d) not all media in the same project are affected.

It appears VS is corrupting clip edits, resulting in Trim Markers for every affected clip being moved to the end of each affected video i.e. Start Marker resides just prior to clip end and End Marker resides at end of clip. However, the blue section (which manifests when 'Clip display mode' is set to 'Thumbnail and file name') indicates the clip length has been extended beyond it's true original length.

So far, my only resolve is to redo every edit and sweat it out waiting for VS to corrupt the project again.

Please help...

Very frustrating
Just a few reports for this one.
You mention a blue segment at the end of the video, if you play that segment is the video static, is the blue simply an image. (Duplicated Frames)
Ok
If you start a new project and add any video, try the Sample Lake, Now drag the end of the clip to the right it increases its length, What we get are duplicate frames, and maybe similar to the view you are seeing after the project corrupts. I believe this is wrong and we should not be able to extend beyond the edges of the video without using one of the Slip to Slide tools.
I do not know what bearing the above has if any, just seems a little strange that the blue shows and I believe it to be a still image, in a similar way as using Freeze Frame

Zelenabel posted an image of the timeline here, does your timelines have similar gaps?
https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=387010#p387010

Are you able to share your project, of course may be limited in size as you would have to upload to a sharing site, creating a smart package would be best.
Even so I think you will have to rebuild or repair the project

Hi Trevor,

Thanx for taking interest….

The blue section resides at the end of any affected clip ie multiple blue sections in a given project. The blue section doesn’t play - I suspect it’s artefact associated with whatever VS has corrupted with the given clip. Manually correcting the problem involves dragging the End Marker left ie towards the start of a clip - when dragging the Marker, the blue section decreases and disappears when the Marker is reset at the actual clip end point. Of course, reinserting the original clip will achieve save effect.

Some of my affected projects have had gaps similar to Zelenable.

Sorry, cannot share the project - rebuild has been the only resolve to date - was hoping someone had figured the issue out n resolved it by now. Seems like, it’s a VS blemish and I’ll have to risk manage my projects with this very buggy version.

Be curious to see whether more recent VS versions continue this issue - I won’t be upgrading till the bug is eradicated.

The way you describe restoring the video length does appear the way I used
After dragging the end to remove the blue we have a trimmed video, I then press the end button below the preview screen to move cursor to far right, may need 2 presses, now pressing Mark-out (F4) will restore the missing video frames to end.
Anyway sounds like you have the project rebuilt.
There have only been 3 posters reporting this, the first over a year ago, I do not think any has reported this to Corel Support so unless someone does they will not be aware of the problem, rarely do support visit here……
