No, in PSP it is focus stacking. You use that in macro photography
And raw processing is much better with aftershot lab buid in.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2023 Released (Aug 4, 2022)
Beside bridging software (some not too expensive) there is here in the forum a script available which do just the same.Ken Berry wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 10:15 pm One of the main things users will need to know about PSP 2023 is that it only comes as a 64 bit program. The 32 bit version has been dropped. So people with 32 bit plug-ins will need to find bridging software to be able to use those plug-ins with the 64 bit PSP. Apparently, though, there are some 32 bit plug-ins which do not have such bridging software.
5) If you have a lot of 32bit plugins that you use but that don't have standalone versions, but you prefer using 64bit PSP, AND you also have an earlier version of PSP 32bit, then you can modify the script to use in your 64bit PSP so that it will open a previous version's 32bit PSP to use as a plugin. This will cause that 32bit version to open with a copy of whatever is in your 64bit PSP's workspace and you can process it using the 32 bit plugins. Save, close the 32bit version and the processed image will return as a layer in the image in your 64bit PSP. I have 2 versions of the script that does that - one which only sends the selected layer of a multi-layer image to the 32bit PSP, and one which sends all of the layers to the 32bit version. Those scripts have line 31 edited to save the temp image in .pspimage format.

Ja, Zantara I talked about " programs" not "plugins" .Zantara wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 9:38 am
Fantastisch!!
That is brilliant...why didn't I see the obvious????
I will publish that idea with credit to Sheng-Si (or is it Sheng-si or sheng-si?)
Edit: I tried it. The old plugins do not show. I set the compatibility to Windows 8 then 7, same difference.![]()
I think it only works with old software that worked under Windows Vista, 7 or 8. PSP 2023 is made for Windows 11 64-bits and you can't fool it, apparently.
But the idea was brilliant.

Maar lees dit ook voor de 32bit plugins

I did get that one.

Ik heb geprobeerd om PSP 2023 te laten draaien in Windows 7 compatibiliteit modus, hopende (voor anderen) dat de filters dan wel zouden werken.
I tried to run PSP 2023 as if it was running under Windows 7, therefore hoping (for others) that the old plugins would run. They don't.
Ik heb je naam in kleine s-jes veranderd.
I credited you with small s-es.

sheng-si -- we have a rule that exchanges here are to be in English. If you want to include another language, it would be polite to provide a translation as Zantara does.
A quick translation of this is:
It is lowercase s.
But also read this for the 32bit plugins

Re: PaintShop Pro 2023 Released (Aug 4, 2022)
I too purchased the upgrade, only to learn in dismay that the 32-bit version has been eliminated.
I have an Epson Perfection V700 photo scanner, it is a number of years old but still working fine. If I understand things correctly, this scanner is not native 64-bit, and so I can't use the TWAIN feature to import images into PSP 2023 since it is only 64-bit.
I got tricked into upgrading, shame on me, but it seems as though I will be stuck on PSP 2022 indefinitely.

Re: [Sticky] - What do you like/not like about PSP2023
You can still use File > Import > From Scanner or Camera. It brings up an interface which is not greatly different from the TWAIN interface. In fact, that is mostly what I have used for several versions of PSP since I mostly use the 64 bit version.

Re: [Sticky] - What do you like/not like about PSP2023
I am still using the trial version of PSP 2023.
What I like:
* the preview function in blend mode
What I might have liked if I would have purchased PSP 2023
* improvement of the Frame tools
What I don't like:
* The fact that there is nothing innovative

The Epson scanning interface is vastly superior to that method, for example, I can do Unsharp Mask, Descreening, or Color correction right when I scan, rather than afterward. You can still use File > Import > From Scanner or Camera. Given that there are really no major improvements from 2022 to 2023, I'm probably going to try and figure out how to invoke my "30-day money-back guarantee" on the purchase.

Re: [Sticky] - What do you like/not like about PSP2023
I can say, that also about my canon scanner/program. But still prefer the possibilities afterwards in psp. Because it is easier to go back. When you do it in the scan program, you have to deal with the result. I always use the highest resolution when I scan something.ralphslate wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 3:28 pm The Epson scanning interface is vastly superior to that method, for example, I can do Unsharp Mask, Descreening, or Color correction right when I scan, rather than afterward.

I just wish I could install it. Been trying now for three days. Trying to get someone to sort it out is harder than meeting the Queen. Think I will return to 2022.

Hi Tynesider
and welcome to the forums
Please try posting to the main PSP forum where you can discuss your install issues.
There have been some registration problems raised on the forums.
You do not give any details as to how far you get with installation.
But as i say post to the main psp forum giving more details

Re: [Sticky] - What do you like/not like about PSP2023
I just got the PSP 2023 version. I can't find all the tools. How can I escape the full-screen window? This should be something I can control! I can't find a bunch of the tools.
I will have to watch a bunch of tutorials to relearn this program. Everything seems to be hidden from me.
Next Day (2022-09-28)
I found a way to change to the Complete workspace, and voila; I could escape the hammerlock the full-screen put on my system, and now the familiar toolbar is available. I sure hate that obstinate full-screen interface! But now, with the Complete workspace, I am much more comfortable with PSP 2023.
I don't like that Corel didn't fix the Clone Brush artifacts problem
