VS'22 Hangs / Freezes on Registration Screen

When you get a illegible pop-up to enter your Corel acct info but you can't read it or if you reverse highlight it - it just locks - this solution was impossible for me to find on this board according to the search terms I just posted, and was not easy to find on their Knowledge Base ("garbled"?) so I'm posting the solution that worked for me - solving days of frustration- and phone calls to Indian help - who could not.

Symptoms
After installing VideoStudio 2022, you are prompted to login to or create a new user account. The screen presented is malformed and cannot be used to input your credentials.
Cause

There is damaged information within the Messages folder that requires a cleaning to be performed.

Resolution
1) Right click on the start button
2) Choose Run
3) Type %appdata% and press Enter
4) Open the folder labeled Corel
5) Open the folder labeled Messages
6) Press CTRL+A to select Everything in the folder
7) Press Delete to send them to the recycle bin

After this is done, try and launch VideoStudio.

Did this solution work for everyone? Who else had problems before this - and how did you solve it?

Welcome to the forum! I have only heard of this problem once or twice before, so I am not sure that "everyone" will have needed to look for a solution.

That being said, I clean out C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages at least once a week, and also C:\ProgramData\Corel\Messages as this is a good way to at least minimize all the Corel pop-up ads that come up. But it may also help avoid the situation you encountered, as you have found.
