VS 2019 crashing when trying to render anything to MOV format
I am trying to work with an animation in MOV format. VS seems to struggle with this. The animation is in MOV and when I try to render it to MOV, VS crashes. The running thing is that I can render it to MP4 and MWV no problem, but if I render to those formats, I lose the transparent background of the original file.

Have you installed the Quicktime .mov codec? It doesn't come installed by default.
If you haven't you'll find it at https://support.apple.com/downloads/quicktime. Note that there is apparently some problem with the QT player, so when you install just install the Essentials. Download the installer and click on it to start it. You should get a dialogue box like in my attached image. Make sure all except Quicktime Essentials is crossed out. Then OK to run it.

Re: VS 2019 crashing when trying to render anything to MOV format
Thanks. The fault was mine. I was not rendering to the Alpha channel preset. I did install Quicktime though. I recently downgraded my main drive from an M.2 drive back to a normal SSD because I have having a lot of trouble with the M.@ drive. I had forgotten to install Quicktime. Thanks for the reminder.
