PhotoMirage vs Steam's Wallpaper Engine

How does PhotoMirage compare to Steam's Wallpaper Engine? Wallpaper Engine is only $3.99 and so powerful. What can PhotoMirage do to justify 17.5 times as much!

Let me start out by saying I own a lot of Corel's products, but after looking at PhotoMairage I think they overpriced and underpowered this app.

So let's look at PhotoMirage good points.
I do not own PM but gathered my info from the Webinar and tutorials
*PhotoMirage has more, and easier exports: Wallpaper Engin can export a still image but to get the animated mp4 you need to publish it and then download your mp4. There is no direct mp4 export.
*Corel has better marketing, so it may sell more in the future.
*It can import Raw
*It has better Masking
*PhotoMirage can send to social media much better.
*PhotoMirage makes it easier to share: Wallpaper engine want all parties to own it, but there is an easy way around that.
*PhotoMirage can make animated wallpapers by downloading and installing an additional program

Wallpaper Engine good points:
*Much cheaper, 17.5 times cheaper! $4 full price and it does go on sale from time to time.
*Bought on Steam so you can Download it to all your computers, and never worry about losing a disk.
*So far has not charged for an upgrade. Corel commonly has pay upgrades.
*Make animated desktop wallpapers. PhotoMirage can do this too with additional software.
*Finally Wallpaper Engine has many more features than PhotoMirag. PhotoMirag appears to be a one trick pony and can move pixels around with a few modifications. Corel is a good company. Like I said I have a lot so their products. But honestly, they need to rethink the pricing for PhotoMirage and ramp up the features.
That said, Photomirage still may be the program for you depending on your needs and desire to dig into all the controls in Wallpaper Engine.

Actually, a little more similar than you might think since both animated still pictures.

PhotoMirage exports much easier to social media and can make animated wallpapers with a free app.

Wallpaper Engine can make the MP4 for social media (but needs to be published and downloaded) and has no gif, but is much cheaper, more powerful, and has animated wallpaper built in.

No. I was just getting ready to buy Wallpaper Engine when I got an email from Corel about PhotoMirage. Since no one knew the difference it took a day of watching all the PhotoMirage tutorials and webinar as well as reading all the Wallpaper engine features. I only posted the results because asik1 asked for a comparison.

PhotoMirage is better if you want a simpler product that has easier exports and doesn't need the power of Wallpaper Engine.
I still think PM is way overpriced and underpowered for what it does.
